Our Garden at Newlands
A Peaceful Outdoor Space
Newlands benefits from a south-facing garden that enjoys beautiful sunshine throughout the day. Thanks to the home’s location, the gardens are peaceful and tranquil, offering a calm and relaxing outdoor space for residents and visitors alike.
A Garden Shaped by Residents
We have a dedicated, secure residents’ garden that was planned and created with the help of our residents and their families, and it continues to evolve and grow. Within this space, residents can enjoy a greenhouse and vegetable patches, where we grow fruit and vegetables for our kitchen, and where residents who wish to take part can enjoy gentle gardening activities throughout the year.
Comfortable seating areas in both sun and shade, surrounded by plants and bird feeders, make the garden a welcoming space that is well used and enjoyed by residents, families, and staff.
Spending time in the garden also plays an important role in wellbeing, offering opportunities for gentle activity, conversation, and quiet reflection.
Accessible and Family-Friendly Spaces
A wheelchair-accessible path leads through the garden to two additional patio areas within the wider grounds. These quieter spaces provide families with the opportunity to spend time together outdoors in privacy, whether enjoying a conversation, a cup of tea, or simply the fresh air.
Above all, our gardens are an extension of the home itself, a safe, homely place to relax, socialise, and enjoy the changing seasons.
